Ellen Offner is a senior executive with a successful record in strategic planning, program and business development, and design and management of large, complex programs. She worked at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care for two decades, and most recently was Vice President for Medicare Programs and, before that, Vice President for Product Development and Management. She has extensive experience as a trustee of several major nonprofit organizations. She is on the Board of the Mark Morris Dance Group, headquartered in Brooklyn, NY. She is also on the Fundraising Advisory Council of Lifebox USA in Boston MA, a nonprofit headed by Atul Gawande, M.D., devoted to improving surgical safety in low- and middle-resource countries. Ellen also serves on the Advisory Board of Global Oncology, an NGO co-chaired by Ami Bhatt, M.D. of Stanford and Franklin Huang M.D. of Harvard, whose mission is to improve diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care throughout low-resource countries around the world. For over a decade, she served on the Board of Lasell College in Newton, MA, and chaired the Board of Lasell Village, an innovative continuing care retirement community on the Lasell College Campus that has won accolades for its intergenerational educational program. Until recently she served on the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Board of Overseers and its Patient Care Committee in Boston MA. She has served on the boards of Planned Parenthood Federation of America in New York NY and International Planned Parenthood Federation. Ellen has an A.B. from Barnard College and an M.B.A. from Boston University with specialization in the public and nonprofit sector.
